Call for Abstracts

Researchers, master and PhD students are welcomed to submit an abstract for presentation of their research during the Symposium. The abstract will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee of the Symposium, consisting of experts of all IEA DHC member countries.

Authors of accepted abstract will be invited for both oral or poster presentations, and for full paper submission. After review, accepted papers will be published in an Indexed Scientific Journal.

Authors are invites to submit contributions on the following topics (up to 5 can be selected per contribution):

  • Planning and design of DHC networks
  • Modelling and simulation of DHC networks
  • Hybrid networks and the interaction of DHC and other energy networks
  • Future (4G)DHC networks, innovative technological advancements in DHC networks
  • Refurbishment and performance improvements of existing DHC networks
  • Business models and economics of DHC networks
  • Digitalisation of DHC networks
  • Integration of renewables and excess heat/cold in DHC networks
  • Efficiency and performance calculations of DHC networks
  • Stakeholder and end-user engagement in DHC networks
  • Policy research on DHC networks
  • The role of local, regional, national authorities in DHC network developments

Abstract submission

The call for abstracts has been closed and are currently beeing reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Authors will be notified on the result by 31 March 2025.

Timeline of the evaluation process

  • Call for Abstracts: November 2024
  • Deadline Call for Abstracts: 21 February 2025 12.00AM (CET)
  • Notification of acceptance: 31 March 2025
  • Deadline for full paper submission: 30 May 2025
